It's Just About That Time Of Year

Will there be a three-time champion? Will Rachael finally live up to her regular season dominance(s)? Who will make the playoffs, the fizzling Julie or the upstart Alex? Aside from the latter, only playoff seeding is yet to be determined. So I quickly went through some scenarios for each team in the hunt with best and worst case scenarios. Good luck to all! Here they are, if you care...

Win Championship If - Colts (Wayne, Tamme and D/ST) start scoring
Fall Short If - She starts her IR or FA players

Best Case - #1 seed, win and Rachael loss

Win Championship If - Sam Bradford continues being "college sam" and doesn't start being "rookie sam"
Fall Short If - Brett Favre finally succumbs to his nagging injuries and can't connect with migraine plagued Harvin.

Best Case - #2 seed, win and Rachael, George loss
Worst Case - #6 seed, loss and Tim, Dave win
Win Championship If - The 3-headed monster of Nicks, Foster, and Johnson stay hot and healthy in the playoffs.
Fall Short If - Rivers gets in the habit of not passing like he did in the win against the Colts last week.

Best Case - #2 seed, win and Adam, Justin loss
Worst Case - #7 seed, loss and Jay, Dave win
Win Championship If - Peyton Hillis keeps thinking that he's Jim Brown
Fall Short If - Peyton Hillis realizes he's a WHITE running back

Win Championship If - Jon Kitna can make it through the gauntlet of Indy, Philly and Washington
Fall Short If - Chris Johnson keeps being inconsistent... so glad i didn't bid $1 more on him.

Worst Case - #7 seed, loss
Win Championship If - Tom and Bowe keep accounting for 80 points like they did last week, not likely...
Fall Short If - at least two players don't put 30+ point games each week.


Alex
Best Case - #8 seed, win
Worst Case - eliminated
Win Championship If - the dominant fantasy players of yesteryear are their old selves again (Steven Jackson, MJD, Witten, Rackers). Who wouldn't have killed for that team two or three years ago???
Fall Short If - Anything other that the aforementioned doesn't happen.


Julie
Best Case - #8 seed, win
Worst Case - eliminated
Win Championship If - the down and out Peyton comes alive and dink-n-dunk champion, Knowshon Moreno keeps producing... there's a chance.
Fall Short If - you don't believe in miracles... but seriously what happened to your team Julie? It looked so promising for you.


Nate, Andy, Katie
Best Case - eliminated, go buy a 2011 Fantasy Draft Guide.
Worst Case - eliminated, go buy a 2010 Fantasy Draft Guide and draft all the players who were supposed to be good THIS year.
Win Championship If - you bribe the commissioner to make it a 12 team playoff. Accepting offers now.

Our year in review:

From day one, it didn't look good for the Maize 'n' Blue Jays. Tom Brady got hurt, his replacement struggled and Chad Johnson had an awful year. The moral of the story: Stay faithful to your team. I made less trades and free agent acquisitions this year, not because I was good all year, but I just tried waiting until players who were supposed to be good panned out. Of course Ocho Cinco was the exception, but guys like Ryan Grant, Tony Gonzalez and Robbie Gould were the rule. I'm not going to go on anymore because you all probably hate seeing me win, so here's a recap of the year and our fantasy league over the five years we've played:

Time To Go All Biblical

This is the only way that I can explain my season. I had a dependency on Tom Brady and I needed to learn that Tom couldn't bring me a championship. So Tom was taken from me and I was forced to develop a team that wasn't dependent on one player. We've fought our way to this point and destiny is in our favor.
